Research Methodology (12 hours minimum)

Introductory level knowledge of statistics is a prerequisite for the quantitative methods courses listed below. The requirement can be satisfied with previous coursework, coursework at other institutions, or one of the statistics courses listed below. Hours for introductory statistics coursework do not count towards the 12-hour departmental research requirement.

Dissertation (Minimum: 6 hours, Two consecutive semesters of dissertation registration)

Students in the Curriculum and Instruction department are required to register for 6 hours ofdissertation credit* during each fall and spring semester during which they are working on theirdissertation research. EDC 699R and 699W: One semester of EDC 699R is scheduled first, during which the dissertation proposal defense should take place. International students and students receiving fellowship, assistantship, or other financial aid, may be required to take 9 hours of dissertation credit each semester.* Please note that editorial changes will be made to this document as newly-approved courses are added in categories specified by cluster faculty.
