Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is a research-oriented degree program designed for individuals who intend to work mainly in primary research in the fields of Bilingual/Bicultural Education and the education of linguistic minorities. This program requires substantial preparation in research design and interpretation. The dissertation should make a significant contribution to knowledge of bilingual educational theories or concepts.
This program is designed primarily for, but is not limited to, the preparation of:

• College or university faculty members
• Researchers in federal and state government
• Research consultants and directors of private foundations and non-profit organizations
