To Apply 

Thank you for your interest in the Proyecto Maestría Collaborative. Applicants to the Special Master's Program must be current certified, bilingual teachers with at least 5 years of bilingual teaching experience. Applicants to the Summer Institute need to only be certified, practicing teachers with an interest in obtaining or advancing either their bilingual or ESL certification. Bilingual certification seekers must demonstrate proficiency in Spanish sufficient to pass state language exams (TOPT or BTLTP).

Application steps at a glance:

Special Master’s Program  Bilingual or ESL Summer Institute
  • Contact us for application materials.
  •  Applicants must be certified bilingual teachers with at least 5 years of bilingual teaching experience.
  • Complete Intent to Apply form.
  • Register for and take the GRE.
  • ONLY International Students, register for and/or report TOEFL scores.
  • Apply to the Graduate School (include transcripts, references and statement of purpose)
  • Apply to the Department of Curriculum and Instruction/Special Master’s Program (include your CV, a brief essay written in Spanish and an extra copy of your Statement of Purpose essay)
  • Candidates will be contacted to schedule a classroom observation as the final step in the application process
  • Contact us for application material
  • Complete Intent to Apply form and specify which summer institute you would like to apply for the Bilingual or ESL institute.
  • GRE scores are NOT REQUIRED.
  • ONLY International Students, register for and/or report TOEFL scores.
  • Apply to the Graduate School as “non-degree seeking” (include transcripts, references, and a statement of purpose).
  • Apply to the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and to either the Bilingual or ESL Summer Institute(include CV and an extra copy of your Statement of Purpose essay).
  • Bilingual certification seekers must demonstrate proficiency in  Spanish sufficient to pass state language exams (TOPT or BTLTP).
