Profile

Dr. George Veletsianos is Assistant Professor of Learning Technologies at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Veletsianos is a Fulbright scholar and was recently awarded one of seven early-career fellowships by the Network of Excellence in Technology Enhanced Learning, a European Union Initiative. His research interests focus on the design and study of emerging technologies and pedagogies in online and hybrid education settings, and their relationship to student and instructor experiences and practices. Most recently his research interests center on making sense of users experiences and practices in online higher education settings. His goal is to understand why and how learners and scholars use social technologies in the ways that they do. Most recently he has published an edited book under an open access license entitled Emerging Technologies in Distance Education, which can be downloaded for free at http://www.aupress.ca/index.php/books/120177.
