Profile
Pamela Dougherty-Smith is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and a Cohort Coordinator for preservice elementary teacher education EC -6. Having experience as an elementary teacher, literacy coach, curriculum developer, and district administrator in a large urban school district, Dr. D. now teaches an undergraduate language arts methods course and classroom management at the University of Texas while overseeing the preparation of preservice teachers. Her special interests include literacy for at risk students, content area literacy, and emergent literacy, with an emphasis on writing and ESL strategies.
