Profile

Detra Price-Dennis is an Assistant Professor in Language and Literacy Studies in the College of Education. She brings 10 years of teaching experience to the professoriate, having served as an elementary teacher in an urban and suburban school setting, literacy coach, and literacy consultant in Columbus, Ohio. As a teacher educator, Price-Dennis focuses her work on transformative literacy pedagogies that seek to create and sustain equitable learning environments for all students. She is interested in the sociopolitical and sociocultural aspects of literacy learning and engagement among elementary and middle school students.
