How to Install The College of Education VPN Program - Windows
NOTE 1: If you are not comfortable with installing the program or don't have the ability to install programs on your computer, contact the College of Education technical support group for assistance.
NOTE 2: These instructions were written assuming you are using the Internet Explorer web browser. If you use a different web browser then the screenshots that follow may not apply or be different. It is recommended that you perform these instructions using the Internet Explorer web browser so that these instructions will be as accurate as possible for you.
1. First you'll need to download the VPN installation program to your computer.
2. When you see the Security Warning window below, click the Run button in order to download and then run the installation program.
- NOTE: If you are not using the Internet Explorer web browser you'll need to manually locate the file you downloaded in Step 1 and then double-click on it in order to start the installation program. The installation program you downloaded will be named openvpn-connect-current.msi.
3. If you are prompted with the Unknown Publisher security window below, click the Run button.
4. The VPN installation program will now download and automatically start.
5. If prompted to install device software, check the box labeled Always trust software from OpenVPN Technologies, Inc. Then click the Install button.
6. After the installation completes, restart your computer to ensure the VPN program installation completes.
7. After you restart your computer and log back into it, you should see the OpenVPN Connect program icon in the notification area of the task bar.
8. Done. The College of Education VPN program has now been installed onto your computer.
