How to Connect to the Meadows Center File Server (OS X)
Note: If you are trying to access the server from an off-campus location, you must first connect to the University's VPN service.
1.) Select "Go" from the top menu bar and then select the option "connect to Server..."

2.) In the dialog box that appears, type in the full address of the server which is files.meadowscenter.org. When you are done click the button labeled "connect".

3.) You should now see a username/password dialog box. Type in your username and password and then press the "connect" button.

4.) You will now see a dialog box with a list of file shares that you have access to on the server. Highlight the file share that you want to access and then press the "OK" button.

5.) If you see a message box pop up, read the message and then press the "OK" button to close it.

6.) Select the share that contains the files you want to access.

7.) Mac OS X 10.4: The file share should now be mounted on your desktop. Once the share is mounted, you can double-click on the icon and access the files in the share just like you access files on your computer. IMPORTANT: Once you are done working with the share, remember to drag the share to the trash can in order to log out of the server.

Mac OS X 10.5 and above: After logging into the server a window will automatically appear where you can browse for the file you want to work with. If you close the file browsing window you can reopen it by clicking on the server icon in the left pane of any Finder window. The server icon is pictured in the screenshot below left of the circled eject icon.

IMPORTANT: Once you are done working with the files on the server, log out of the server by clicking the eject icon to the right of the server icon in any Finder window. The eject button is circled in the screenshot above.
TIP: You can open a new Finder window by clicking File | New Finder Window from the top menu bar with the Apple icon. You may need to click on an unused spot on your computer desktop to make the correct top Apple menu bar appear.
