Back Up Your Data
Hard drives will fail, so back up regularly. Copy data to CD-R or Zip disks, or use the LTC's new Automated Backup System. To get set up, contact LTC Help at: help@teachnet.edb.utexas.edu.
Install Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware Software

Encrypt Your Data
Category I data must be encrypted if it is stored on computer systems or transmitted over data networks. For instructions on how to encrypt data see our Computer Security Tutorials.
Securely Store Your Data
If the data does not need to be active on computer systems, transfer the data to media such as CD-Rs, and store in a physically secure location.
