LTC Welcomes Summer 2010 Students! - June 2nd, 2010

The Learning Technology Center welcomes all College of Education students to the 2010 summer sessions!

We have created an updated summer edition of our directory of services and facilities. The directory has been redesigned and reorganized to make finding the information you need easier than ever. Download our Service Directory here or pick up a printed copy at our fourth and fifth floor entrances.

You’ll notice in the directory that the LTC has changed the name of several of its technology facilities. Several issues prompted the changes.

In the last few years, the LTC has strived toward flexible usage in all its facilities, making them have more similar capabilities, rather than differences that can be highlighted in their names. Also during this time, a differentiation has developed between the computer labs, with fixed workstations, and technology classrooms, in which laptop computers are ordered for delivery if needed for students. These developments led to several of the facilities having equipment that did not match their names. Finally, there was concern that the LTC would struggle with outdated names in the future, unless more general name designations were used.

The table below lists the location, with old and new names, of the affected rooms. The Distance Learning Classroom (SZB 323), the Open Lab (SZB 439), and the Kinesiology Lab (BEL 844) will remain so named. Signage at the room doorways will be updated shortly after the beginning of classes.
