TLTC Distinguished Lecture Series Welcomes Steven Thorne March 27, 4pm, MEZ 0.306
Dr. Steven Thorne, of Pennsylvania State University, will speak on "Semiotic Flows, Bricolage, and Critical Language Awareness" on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 4:00 pm at Mezes 0.306.
Dr. Thorne is the associate director of the Center for Language Acquisition. He is also project co-director and advisor for mediated learning at the Center for Advanced Language Proficiency Education and Research, a National Foreign Language Resource Center, at Penn State. His work investigates semiotic mediation with a focus on second and foreign language development and Internet-mediated communicative activity.
This free lecture should appeal to many in the College of Education. The Texas Language Technology Center’s Distinguished Lecture Series is co-sponsored by the Learning Technology Center and the Foreign Language Education Program.
