The Laptop Initiative for Future Educators (LIFE) has surveyed its students since the program?s inception in 2002 to inform program improvements. This year, the survey itself underwent a major revision to improve and expand the data that was gathered.

Teachers Study LBJ and Primary Source Materials at Presidential Timeline Teacher Institute
Johnson worked tirelessly for the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and his actions and decisions were crucial in its passage. Analyzing those decisions and actions and the motivations that influenced Johnson was the focus of the Presidential Timeline Teacher Institute, held July 9-12 and hosted by the College of Education's Learning Technology Center.

Learning Technology Center to host Presidential Timeline Teacher Institute
The LTC is proud to host the Presidential Timeline Teacher Institute July 9-12. Twenty-five teachers, invited from around the country, will study presidential decision-making and the 1965 Voting Rights Act, and how to teach these subjects using primary source documents.

New Staff, Updated Equipment in Assistive Technology Lab
Austin Mulloy has become the manager of the Assistive Technology (AT) Lab. The AT Lab, which displays and demonstrates specialized equipment for people with disabilities, is housed in the LTC and jointly run by the LTC and the Department of Special Education.
