LTC Technical and Network Services Creates Web-based Application for College Risk Assessment
The Learning Technology Center's Technical and Network Services (TNS) team recently completed the second annual Risk Assessment of all College of Education networked computing devices, using a Web application they developed specifically for the assessment.

Presidential Timeline Receives Congressional Funding
The Learning Technology Center's Presidential Timeline has been provided special Congressional funding through the Department of Education Fund for the Improvement of Education-Programs of National Significance, through the Lyndon Baines Johnson Foundation.

LTC Expands Laptop Fleets
The Learning Technology Center has updated and expanded its laptop fleets to meet the growing demand for classroom use of computers. The LTC has replaced the laptops in its oldest Mobile Computer Lab cart, and acquired enough of the new machines to create an additional fleet.

Learning Technology Center Director Gives Keynote at Digital Equity Summit
Dr. Paul E. Resta, LTC Director and Professor of Instructional Technology, addressed the Digital Equity Summit held July 1st at the National Educational Computing Conference in San Antonio. He described the many challenges that exist in the United States and around the world to providing equitable access to technology resources.

LTC Receives NEH Grant to Conduct History Teaching Workshops
The Learning Technology Center is pleased to announce an award of $30,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities to host a four-day workshop for history teachers to learn about the Presidential Timeline and the use of primary sources in their teaching.

Consolidated Open Lab, New Lab Printers Greet Summer Students
College of Education students will see several changes in the Learning Technology Center?s computer labs as summer classes begin. There is no longer a Fifth Floor Open Lab, and all Open Lab users will now be directed to the Fourth Floor Open Lab. The change will consolidate all LTC lab computers and printers on the fourth floor, simplifying our service layout and streamlining maintenance.

Careful Planning Behind Recent Leopard Upgrades
College of Education computer users were eager to start using the latest Mac OS X version, 10.5 "Leopard," as soon as it was introduced last October. But the Technical and Network Services of the LTC had to take a more cautious approach.
