The Learning Technology Center has updated the iMac computers in its Mac Lab!

Student sitting in front of new sleek iMacGraduate student Victoria Acebo used one of the new iMacs on a recent morning. Her verdict: "I like them, especially the sleek new keyboard."

All thirty student workstations, as well as the instructor console computer have been replaced. The sleek new iMacs feature a slimmer-than-ever, all-in-one 20” monitor/CPU unit and brushed aluminum surfaces. The keyboards are also ultra thin and have new function keys for one-touch control of basic system operations.

The new machines have a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo Intel processor and 1GB of memory. They also have a built-in speaker, microphone, and iSight camera. Photos and video are vivid and richly colored on the high-resolution glass covered monitor.

The LTC strives to keep its technology current by replacing lab computers every three years. Coming soon are new Mac Pros to replace the PowerMac G5s in the Multimedia Lab!
