The Learning Technology Center (LTC ) is pleased to announce that Chad Fulton is the new Coordinator for the Laptop Initiative for Future Educators (LIFE ).

Chad is already very familiar with the initiative because he has supervised the employees of the Laptop Help Desk, a critical element of the LTC ’s support of LIFE , since its inception in 2002. Chad has worked at the LTC since 2001, coordinating the Instructional Computing and Information Resources area for much of that time. In that role, he was responsible for managing the operation of the LTC’s computer labs and the supervision of the area’s student employees.

During this time, he also organized student workers into a Web Applications Development team. The team created a number of programs, such as a time clock and a reservation system, which improved and streamlined lab operations.

Recently, Chad has assisted the LTC’s IDEA Studio with the development and delivery of student training, and has conducted the required laptop orientation for students entering the LIFE program. The LTC is confident that Chad’s skills and experience, as well as his keen interest in instructional technology, will make him an effective coordinator of the LIFE program.

The previous LIFE coordinator, Melissa Tothero, has left the University to work as an independent consultant. The LTC appreciates all the great work she did for the program, and wishes her well in her new ventures!
