Fifth Floor, SZB 536, Learning Technology Center

Are you comfortable when you’re hunkered down on the floor in the hallway next to a power outlet to charge your laptop battery? It sure doesn’t look like it!

What you may not realize is that there are several great places to study, meet with classmates, and charge your laptop in the Sánchez Building and Bellmont Hall. We’d love to see you use these areas more—so get up off the floor and check them out!

SZB 536

On the 5th floor of the Sánchez Building inside the Learning Technology Center’s main 5th floor entrance, is a very large student study area. There is seating for more than 40, including large round tables perfect for study group meetings, cushioned lounge chairs, and counter height tables for individual use. Electrical outlets are within easy reach of all the tables. This area was recently remodeled to enlarge the laptop/study space available for students, so try it out!

If you just want to read, gaze out the floor-to-ceiling windows, eat lunch, or use your laptop without power, there are three café tables with six chairs just west of the escalators on the third, fourth, and fifth floors.

Kinesiology and Health Education's New Student Study and Advising Area, Belmont Hall 1005

BEL 1005

The Department of Kinesiology and Health Education has just opened the Student Study and Advising Area on the 10th floor of Bellmont Hall, thanks to the generosity of Men’s Athletic Director Deloss Dodds. The large area is filled with tables and chairs, couches, a microwave oven, and even a large screen TV! Currently there is no wireless network access, but this is planned for the future.
