Resources for Faculty & Staff
Computer Labs, Classrooms and Equipment Checkout
Faculty may reserve the Distance Learning Classroom, the Model Technology Classroom and any of the computer labs (except for the Fourth and Fifth Floor Open Labs) for classes, and UT-sponsored research projects and demonstrations. Entire computer laboratories and other equipment including Laptops are also available for checkout.
Technical & Network Services
The Technical and Network Services team maintains the College network infrastructure, Web servers, and the TeachNet email/conferencingsystem. They provide computer and technical-related assistance and trouble-shooting to College faculty and staff. A new service this semester is automated computer backups for faculty and staff.

- Web Services - The LTC provides various Web services to faculty and staff for the academic or administrative needs of its departments, offices, and centers.
- Teachnet - TeachNet is a full-featured Bulletin Board system that provides email, conferences, and chat. It is used for internal email and by many of the College’s classes for discussion, collaboration, and submission of assignments.

To request help from the “tech team,” please send email to help@edb.utexas.edu or use our Web-based Tech Support System. If email and Web access is down call 471-HELP. Requests are acknowledged, and every effort is made to attend to requests as quickly as possible.
Additional Faculty Resources
Laptop Help - Faculty may visit Laptop Help for assistance with the use of laptop software and other applications. The Laptop Help team is located at the LTC Services Desk.
Instructors’ Reserves - Course materials placed on reserve at the LTC Services Desk in SZB 536.
IDEA Studio - The IDEA Studio supports the faculty of the College of Education as they incorporate technology into their instruction, the activities of their students and their research.
Accessibility Resources - A list of Hardware, Software, and Furnishings in the Learning Technology Center that can assist those with disabilities as well as Contact Information and links to other offices which can provide assistance.
The Assistive & Instructional Technology Lab - This lab offers interactive activities to familiarize students with many of the hardware and software applications that facilitate access for individuals with disabilities.
Vision Awards - The Vision Awards program provides support for the development of technology-based instructional projects. Information on past projects and the submission process for future awards can be found on their site.
