Resources for Students
Computer Labs and Equipment Checkout
During open lab hours, students may use computers in the Fifth Floor Open Lab and the Fourth Floor Open Lab or sit down at the chairs and tables provided in the Student Study Area. In addition, students may use computers in other labs when not being used for classes. Students may use the LTC's Media Production Resources for creating instructional materials. Other equipment including Laptops, and Audio-Visual Equipment are also available for checkout.
Student Study Area
The Fifth floor of the LTC features a spacious student study area. Tables and comfortable seating provide students a place to meet, study, and collaborate.
In addition to the building's wireless access, the study area provides students with power sockets to run or charge their laptops.
Laptop Help
Laptop Help provides hardware technical support specific to the needs of students using required Apple lap-tops in their teacher preparation programs. Students and faculty may also visit Laptop Help for assistance with the use of laptop software and other applications. The Laptop Help team is located at the LTC Services Desk.
Additional Student Resources
Web Services - Students may have access to the College of Education Server in order to work on faculty advisor pages with proper permission from advisor. Send a request to Computer Help to receive access.
Teachnet - TeachNet is a full-featured Bulletin Board system that provides email, conferences, and chat. It is used for many of the College’s classes for discussion, collaboration, and submission of assignments.
Instructors’ Reserves - Course materials placed on reserve at the LTC Services Desk in SZB 536.
Accessibility Resources - A list of Hardware, Software, and Furnishings in the Learning Technology Center that can assist those with disabilities as well as Contact Information and links to other offices which can provide assistance.
The Assistive & Instructional Technology Lab - This lab offers interactive activities to familiarize students with many of the hardware and software applications that facilitate access for individuals with disabilities.
