Program Description
2004 Vision Awards Showcase
The Vision Award program was initiated in 2003 as a means for College of Education faculty members to develop technology resources in support of their classroom instruction. First year funding for the program came from the Provost's Office via the ITAC (Information Technology Advisory Committee) program. That year 10 projects were completed, ranging from a web-based database that supports the submission, search, and retrieval of lesson plans that align with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) to a web-based video resource that demonstrates appropriate volleyball skills for various age levels. A well-attended and well-received showcase at the conclusion of the program year emphasized the faculty's support for the concept.
The Vision Awards Program is now in its 10th year of supporting innovative uses of technology in education. Over this decade, the sophistication of the projects has increased dramatically, but the focus still remains on enhancing teaching and learning in the College of Education. Requests for proposals are announced on this site, on the College of Education's main site, and via email.
