TEL ED '97
TEL ED '97 was The International Conference on Telecommunications and Multimedia in Education, a three-day conference held 13-16 November 1997 in Austin, Texas and Mexico City.
The conference was sponsored by the educational technology groups ISTE, TCEA and ILCE and was chaired by Dr. Paul E. Resta. It focused on the educational aspects of telecommunications and multimedia. The pioneering conference put into practice the interactive and cross-cultural innovations it promoted by linking the two conference sites through video teleconferencing.
It also featured a site visit of the Learning Technology Center. Austin participants toured the Distance Learning Classroom and various computer labs, and saw a demonstration of computer-based digital video editing.
