Born in Taiwan, the daughter of professor Yei-Ju Hsiao and Chiang-Ming Chen. Married to Shyh-Nung Steve Lin, Ph.D., with a 4.5 year old daughter Eugenia. Holds a B. S. degree in Textile & Clothing from Taiwan, M.A. degree in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin. Currently, a doctoral candidate in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction with specialization in Instructional Technology at the University of Texas at Austin. Works at Austin Community Television, a public access community media center, as Research & Development Coordinator.
Career Highlights
Instructional Technology
Develops state-of-the-art multimedia and desktop publishing productions. Implements learning strategies and instructional theories in plan development. Responsible for report writing and designing ACTV's newsletter, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Develops funding proposal and promotional packages. Masters both PC and Macintosh computers, as well as operates various multimedia, telecommunication, and database software.
Research & Development
Just finished a ACTV 1996 City-wide Audience Survey and published in ACTV's November Newsletter. Experienced in numerous research methodologies: experimental design, survey research, and focus group studies. Specializing in quantitative methods. Masters several statistical software. Implements all aspects of research design from instrument development, data collection, data analyses, to report writing and publication.
Project Management
Gained supervising and management experience through working with international advertising agency and management consulting company. Manages and expedites multiple projects simultaneously and excels in time management (certified MTM 'Method Time Management' engineer). Orchestrated promotional plans for international clients.
Training Development
Conducted interviews with influential personnel in Taiwan industry and college professors. Planned and delegated responsibility for a number of successful industry conference. Developed and designed training courses for manpower development, productivity enhancement, and quality control. Designed training materials and as a chief editor for quarterly magazine and professional books.
