Welcome to EDC 385G:
Computer Supported Collaborative Learning

Course Web Page

  • How to Enter Class Web Page
    • If you are a UT Austin on-campus student, your username is the email address you used when registering for this course (i.e. the email address to which the welcoming message is being sent). Go to the TIS login page (https://tis.telecampus.utsystem.edu/login.asp) and click on "Forgot your password?" On the password reminder page, type in your email address and click "submit" to have your password emailed to you.
    • After getting your username and password, go to the Login page (http://uttc.blackboard.com/) and log in with your username and password. Then, click on the link, "Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (FA07)," in the “My Courses” box.
  • How Will This Page Apply to You?
You should check into the class site at least once a week. This site will contain information about the course content, assignment instructions, and newsletters with updates of information. To see the course content and assignments, go to the "Course Modules" section in the left frame of the site. It is important that you check back periodically to ensure that you are on top of things!

Webcast from 5 to 7 PM CST on September 4th (Tue)
On-campus students will meet in the Distance Learning Classroom (SZB 323) and off-campus students will join the class session through the webcast, class chat, and conference phone.

  • To watch the webcast, click on the following link (http://realaudio.cc.utexas.edu:8080/ramgen/redundant/channel1.rm). You need the RealPlayer 6.0 or better (To download the free RealPlayer, go to http://www.real.com/).

  • We are also going to conduct a live chat during the webcast. Before the webcast, go to the course webpage on Blackboard => Communications => Collaboration and join the Class Chat Room by clicking on the Join button. Java Plug-in is required for the Chat to run. So, you need to test your computer before the webcast. If your computer doesn't have Java Plug-in, you will be given the instruction when you click on the Join button.

  • Put our conference phone number 1 - 512 - 471 - 3099 near your phone so you can call in to ask questions if you do have a separate phone line.
