Cherished Memories

I will always cherish these memories from Camp John Marc....

The innocents prancing, laughing and playing around their haven, Camp John Marc.
Their sweet escape from their challenging lives where they can have fun from sun up to dark.

They wake up in the morning with smiles across their freckled faces
and a glimmer of hope twinkles in their eyes as they tie their laces.

Ready to take on what the new day brings,
I look at them and draw inspiration
from thier endurance, strength and determination
  as a little bird sings

We cooked, we painted, we played, we fished
  and anything else they wished.

And at the end of the day, I look at them and see so much that I aspire to be,
And yet they grab my hand to hold and look up at me.

I will always cherish these memories forever.
