Résumé and Job Search Advising
The Education Career Services (ECS) coordinator can help College of Education
undergraduates to carefully examine their career paths, as well as assist
them to plan and organize their career searches. One-on-one career counseling
and mock interviews are offered by appointment. Résumé critiques
for College of Education undergraduates are available via e-mail or in person.
Job Search Tools Workshops
During the fall and spring semesters, Education Career Services offers Job Search Basics and Interview Basics workshops to assist College of Education students and alumni to make informed career choices.
College of Education Career Fairs
Education Career Services works with a variety of recruiting entities from Texas and other states interested in hiring UT College of Education students. Each semester over 100 of these recruiters participate in the College of Education Career Fair which assists students in the teacher certification program in connecting with school districts and other educational entities.
Each spring, ECS sponsors a Kinesiology and Health Education (KHE) Internship/Career Fair for students in the Kinesiology and Health Education department. This fair is an exciting opportunity for not only KHE students to arrange internships and secure post graduation employment, but also for all University of Texas students to gain experience working in a variety of educational and recreational settings at various camps across the nation.
These fairs are excellent opportunities to learn about a variety of education-related positions while networking with recruiters. Interviews are offered at recruiters’ request.
The Education Career Services office offers a variety of self-managed resources available for storing and sending credentials and professional portfolios.

KHE Newsletter
The careerCourier is a newsletter published for students in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education (KHE). This newsletter keeps students in touch with the department and includes features on our students and their internships, career advice, department news, and links to career resources on the Web. The newsletter is available on-line or in hard copy in 222 and 1005 Bellmont.
KHE On-line Internship Database and Notebooks
The on-line database includes information regarding current and future internship and job opportunities for KHE students. Notebooks containing the internships’ description, qualifications, application procedures, and contact information are available in Bellmont 1005. Employers may contact the Bellmont office to be included in this database.

The Education Career Services office serves as a resource and partner to help students achieve success during every phase of the career search process. Whether identifying and exploring a potential career field, finding a vacancy, or accepting a position, Education Career Services provides a variety of on-line resources to assist students in working through the job search process.

Additional Resources
Publications and materials to assist students with job seeking skills are also available in the Education Career Services Center located in 294 Sanchez and in the KHE Education Career Services extension in Bellmont Hall. Students may view these resources in the Center or may check them out for reasonable periods of time for home use.
