What is a credential file?
A credential file holds items that are needed to apply for employment opportunities or graduate school. It can include letters of recommendation, curriculum vitae, writing samples, dissertation abstracts, teaching certifications, test scores, student evaluations, and more.
Why use Interfolio?
We find Interfolio to be an extremely convenient and efficient resource to manage and send out credentials online, and we will no longer be opening paper credential files in our office. Here are some of the benefits of this service:
- Constant Access - Once an Interfolio account is created, the user has access to his or her credential file at all times via the Web.
- Flexibility - Nearly any type of document may be stored with Interfolio, including: confidential letters of recommendation, curriculum vitae, writing samples, dissertation abstract, supervising teacher evaluation, student and peer evaluations, test scores, transcripts, and more. Interfolio now allows storage for multimedia footage, as well.
- Quick turnaround - Interfolio processes all delivery requests in one business day.
- Safe, secure and reliable - The privacy and security of information is Interfolio's highest priority.
- Affordability - Interfolio charges $15 to set up a 1-year account, and $5 to send out the typical application. Payment is made online, using a credit card, or by check or money order. If a student signs up during the last two semesters of the PDS, a 1-year account will be available at the discounted rate of $9.
