LDAT 2003

UT professor Brian Bryant welcomes special education teachers from all over Texas to the LDAT conference.

Former AT Lab TA Jose L. Loera shows teachers how to use Kurzwell 1000 (software that scans text and converts it to speech for the vision-impaired) and Dragon Naturally Speaking (a program that recognizes speech and converts it to text for people with visual and physical disabilities).

Former AT Lab TA Paula Hartman demonstrates how to use communication devices in the home setting of the AT Lab. Here, Hartman displays the Boardmaker Picture Index, one of the most popular picture assistants for people with disabilities.

Dr. Paul Resta greets conference members and gives them a short overview about the learning technology center.
