Description:
TDD is a communication device that allows people with hearing or speech impairments to make and receive phone calls. A user types messages into the machine which appear on the liquid crystal display (of the TDD) of the second person involved in the call. The latter reads responses on his or her liquid crystal display. The entire conversation can be printed on paper. Calls may also be made to phones without TDD capability; these calls are possible with the aid of a TDD operator.
