Mayer-Johnson Co.

The Mayer-Johnson Co. is the originator of the Picture Communication Symbols. Their symbols are used in augmentative communication. Their products include educational materials and software. The software is used to make communication boards, educational materials, and overlays for different computer access devices and for speech output. Presently software is designed for Macintosh and Windows.

 Microsoft - Accessibility and Disabilities Group

Microsoft has established the Accessibility and Disabilities Group to make computers easier to use for people with special accessibility needs. This group works to make Microsoft products and services more accessible as well as promote accessibility throughout the computer industry. It also supports the development of a rich variety of third-party accessibility aids.

MicroTalk 

MicroTalk produces a program called ASAP, a screen reading program, and two speech cards, DoubleTalk and LiteTalk. ASAP reads whatever you type on the computer. 

Millennium Software

The immediate goal of Millennium Software is to publish products, like Labeling-Tutor, that carefully use discrete trial methods to address the needs of learning disabled children. These products will allow the parent or therapist to tailor the software to the specific cognitive, motor, sensory and perseverative handicaps of the child. They will let one modify and add to the material being taught. The company also wants to provide exceptional user support, yet keep prices low enough for home users. 

Mindscape Educational Software

Mindscape is a division of Software Toolworks, publisher of educational, curriculum, test preparation, and applications software for the home and school market. All educational software is distributed exclusively through the Society for Visual Education. Of Mindscape's 170 software selections, 45 are targeted for intensive use and thorough testing by special needs populations.

OMS Development is primarily a custom programming and product development firm. OMS markets standard products, including powerful and affordable adaptive software. Tiny Talk is a affordable and small memory screen reading program for the IBM. Keycache, a word prediction program, is also available for IBM-compatible computers and works with nearly any program that uses keyboard input.

PageMinder

PageMinder provides a welcome solution for individuals struggling with memory deficits, or trying to keep up with a complicated schedule. With the use of paging technology, customers receive text reminders for medication times, daily living skills, appointments, or other routine tasks. The system is portable, easy to use, and requires no initiation on the part of the user. It can be adapted for many languages.

Prentke Romich Company

PRC'S company mission is to help people with disabilities achieve their potential in educational, vocational and personal pursuits. To this end PRC provides quality language and assistive technology products and services to people with disabilities, their families and professions. Products include augmentative communication systems, computer access technology, and environmental controls. PRC services include toll-free sales and service numbers, a trial rental program to ensure applicability prior to purchase, and a service loaner program so that a user is not without a device while it is being serviced.
