In Touch Systems produces the Magic Wand Keyboard (IBM or Apple), a miniature computer keyboard and mouse designed for anyone with restricted or no hand/arm movement. Both keyboard and mouse work with the slightest touch of a wand, using either a hand-held wand or mouth stick. No pressure is needed, only contact. The Magic Wand Keyboard was by Jerry Crouch, president of In Touch Systems, for his wife Susan, who is quadriplegic. Susan now uses a computer to manage sales and marketing for the company.

ISI is a Canadian-based company with offices in Canada and in Newbury, MA. Working with the Institute on Applied Technology at Children's Hospital, Boston, ISI jointly developed WriteAway, a DOS-based software writing tool-kit designed specifically for children and adults with learning and physical disabilities. WriteAway, available for the DOS and Windows 95 Operating Systems, integrates word-processing features with word prediction, text readback, built-in scanning, and alternate keyboard-access modes. The product has been used successfully by children and adults with a wide range of disabilities.
