Daniel J. Ruiz MS, ATC, CSCS, LAT
Danny jointed UT’s staff this past fall as the softball athletic trainer. Danny comes to UT, from the UHZ Sports Medicine Institute in Coral Gables Florida, where he worked as a physician extender for the orthopedic surgeons of the University of Miami, Florida International University, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football organization. Danny obtained his Master’s Degree from Florida International University, in which he served as a research assistant and was the head athletic trainer at McArthur High School in Hollywood, Florida. As a research assistant, he specialized in the assessment, treatment and prevention of exertional heat illnesses in the high school setting. Danny earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He is a native New Yorker, and loves to travel.
