Eric Fry serves as the athletic trainer for the men's basketball program at the University of Texas.
Fry came to UT in 2009 after serving as the athletic trainer for the Kentucky men's basketball program for two seasons. Prior to his stint with Kentucky, Fry served as an assistant athletic trainer for three years with the University of Colorado men's basketball and football programs.
He also spent two years at the University of Denver, working as an athletic trainer with the volleyball, men's lacrosse and men's and women's ski teams. Fry began his professional career as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Wisconsin. He worked primarily with the men's and women's swimming and diving teams along with the men's and women's soccer programs.
Fry completed his undergraduate studies at Purdue University in 2000 and earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training. He also received a master's degree in Higher Education Administration in May 2002. While at Purdue, Fry worked as an athletic training student with the football, baseball and men's basketball teams. During his undergraduate career, he also worked as an intern athletic trainer with the Kenai Peninsula Oilers, a summer baseball team in Kenai, Alaska.
Fry is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and College Athletic Trainers' Society. He volunteers for the U.S. Olympic Committee's Sports Medicine Department. Fry served as the athletic trainer for the U.S. Tae Kwon Do and golf teams during the 2007 World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand. He is recognized as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also a Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist recognized by the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a Fellow of Applied Functional Science through the Gray Institute.
