ATEP Home -> FAQ -> Does everyone have to do a year of directed observation hours?

Does everyone have to do a year of directed observation hours?

No. Students who have had at least 75 hours of athletic training experience at the college or university level may, at the Athletic Training Education Program Admissions Committee's recommendation, skip the D.O. year and be admitted to the ATEP, provided they meet the other Admissions Requirements for transfer students. The 75 hours must have been performed under a BOC certified athletic trainer. In this case the student is placed on a probationary status until all requirements for admission to the program have been fulfilled. See information on transfer students under the application packet / admissions info.
