Kim Detwiler joined the UT staff in 2011 as the athletic trainer for the Longhorns softball team. Prior to coming to Texas, Kim was an Assistant Professor of Athletic Training Education at the University of La Verne in California. While at La Verne, she taught in the Athletic Training Education Program and served as the athletic trainer for the Leopards softball team. Kim earned an Associate's Degree in Sports Medicine from Modesto Junior College in 2002, a BS in Athletic Training from San Diego State University in 2005 and a MS in Athletic Training from the University of Oregon in 2007. She served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Oregon working with the football team and the university's club sports programs. Kim is both nationally certified (ATC) and State licensed as an athletic trainer, in addition to being nationally certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
