Martha Pyron, M.D.

Martha Pyron

Martha Pyron is a board certified sports medicine physician who has worked with the UT Austin Kinesiology and Health Education departments since 2004. She is an alumni of The University of Texas at Austin and went on to medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed a family practice residency program at Southern Colorado Family Medicine and then a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Michigan State University Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies. She was a team physician for Penn State University from 2000-2003 and then returned to Austin to head up the Sports Medicine Clinic at UT University Health Services. In 2008, she left the University to start a private Sports Medicine Clinic, Medicine in Motion. She currently employs three certified athletic trainers and provides office and field training for undergrad athletic training students. She is currently a team physician for the UT Rugby, Lacrosse, and Soccer club sports teams, as well as Vista Ridge High School. Dr. Pyron also has experience providing medical care for US national Teams including US Softball and US Field Hockey.
 

Becca McCollum

Becca McCollum

 

Becca McCollum, MEd, ATC, LAT is a nationally certified athletic trainer (ATC). She was born and raised in Friendswood, TX and has been living in the Austin area for the last 15 years. Becca graduated from Texas State University with a Master's of Education in 2003 and a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science with a major in Athletic Training in 1999. In 2000, Becca began her professional career at Christus St. Catherine Hospital and Northbrook High School in Houston, Texas. She returned to the Austin area quickly to spend the next 12 years working for Del Valle ISD as an athletic trainer and teacher. Becca has worked with many different sports and athletes, including 2 NCAA Women's Basketball Champions and an NBA basketball player. When she is not working, Becca enjoys playing with her furkids (2 cats and a dog), spending time with her friends, lifting weights, photography, and relaxing in the beautiful weather of Austin, Texas.

 

Molly Kidd

Molly Kidd

Molly Kidd, MA, ATC, LAT is a nationally certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). She grew up in Altadena, CA but has been living all over the country for the past 7 years. Molly began college at University of Denver working with their Men’s Hockey team. She then transferred and graduated from University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Her next move was to Tennessee Tech University where she earned her Master of Arts in Exercise Science studying shoulder injuries in baseball players and worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Football, Soccer and Softball teams. During her career as an Athletic Trainer, Molly has worked with a variety of athletes including D1 and D2, junior college, high school, and Paralympic athletes. She has also worked with a range of sports such as volleyball, lacrosse, hockey, skiing, baseball and many more. In the near future, Molly hopes to attain her Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification. When she’s not working, Molly enjoys mountain biking, photography, playing with her dog, and making up for lost time with her family here in Austin.

 

Lorena Gonzalez

Lorena Gonzalez

Lorena Gonzalez, ATC, LAT, is a nationally certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). She was born in San Antonio, Texas and raised in Austin. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with a specialization of Strength and Conditioning in the spring of 2011. While studying as an undergrad, she has worked with a variety of sports and settings such as track & field, soccer, volleyball, football, as well as in high schools and physical therapy clinics. Lorena chose to pursue Athletic Training because of her passion for sports and helping others. In her spare time, Lorena enjoys running, weight lifting, Crossfit, and spending time with her family.
