Admission Criteria

Students interested in the athletic training major must complete a 100 hour Directed Observation program during their first year at UT, unless the student can verify that they have at least 100 hours of experience as an athletic training student at the college or university level. Upon satisfactory completion of this program, students are then required to submit a formal application for admission to the major and ATEP.

Admission to the major and ATEP is limited and is based on a competitive admissions process that includes factors such as GPA, performance evaluations, completion of educational competencies and clinical proficiencies, and performance in prerequisite courses.

For full details on the undergraduate admissions process and requirements, contact the program's director or a UT academic advisor in the Kinesiology and Health Education department.
